Simon Crum - Country Music's Here to Stay

Trees By Joyce Kilmer

I THINK that I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,

And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,

But only God can make a tree.

DID YOU KNOW

 The Church does not use the exact date of the paschal full moon but an approximation, because the paschal full moon can fall on different days in different time zones, which would mean that the date of Easter would be different depending on which time zone you live in. For calculation purposes, the full moon is always set at the 14th day of the lunar month (the lunar month begins with the new moon). Likewise, the Church sets the date of the vernal equinox at March 21, even though it can occur on March 20. Both approximations allow the Church to set a universal date for Easter.
Still, Easter isn't celebrated universally on that date. While Western Christians use the Gregorian calendar (the calendar that's used throughout the West today, in both the secular and religious worlds) to calculate the date of Easter, the Eastern Orthodox continue to use the older, astronomically inaccurate Julian calendar. Currently, March 21 on the Julian calendar falls on April 3 in the Gregorian calendar. Therefore, for the Orthodox, the Sunday following the 14th day of the paschal full moon has to fall after April 3, hence the discrepancy in the date of Easter.

NEWS CORPORATION

I was watching one of their TV stations today an it struck me that they have some very stupid people working for them .The man said he did not know why our President let the other countries take the lead in military operation in Libya.I was thinking only a fool does not learn anything from the past.We know we are the most powerful country in the world,maybe if we walk softly an carry a big stick we will continue to enjoy the friendship of the freedom seeking world.

Wheeler Points by Elmer Wheeler

SELL THE SIZZLE

Out mowing this morning my thoughts went to John Wells an his seed buying.Then my thoughts jumped to Elmer Wheeler(Americas greatest salesman) selling the sizzle.What brought on this thought I was mowing down all these dandelions which I consider an intrusive weed that looks pretty.I will say many years ago that I picked some tinder leaves an prepared them the same way my mother prepared an other wild green ( poke salad).I found dandelions to have a bitter taste that I did not like.Now I would like to know the taste of dandelion wine .

MADE IN AMERICA

Made in America sounds great to me ,but what sounds better is UNION MADE IN AMERICA!!!!I'm a 55 year member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.) I have helped wire everything from skyscrapers to a sewage treatment plants an everything from commercial an industrial facilities around Dallas .One thing I'm proud of is I helped hook up the equipment out at Texas Instrument .to grow the silicon for the first chip .I was told what they intended to do with it.2 year later I was reading my National Geographic Magazine an there was the article on the chip.

We worked hand in hand with the NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association) to make this country what it is today an I'm Quit proud of what we have accomplished.
