aluminum foil

Early Foil Applications

The first commercial use of aluminum foil in the U.S. apparently was for identification leg bands for racing pigeons, sometime around 1913-14. Quite understandably, no predictions of future volume sales for foil have been found in marketing histories of the time.My mother comes to my mind ,back in the late 40's she would reuse it till it feel apart.Good memories.

Doing The Right Thing

Is not alway the best thing to do.I'm thinking about our President which I voted for .At this point of time I'm thinking I did the right thing, but the country as a whole was not ready for the right thing so for the countrys sake he was just a term or two to early. After saying all that then I got to thinking ,at that point of time I had no reasonable choice but President Obama.Just like the present time whos out there better?

Texas Captol

Construction of the Italian Renaissance Revival style capitol was funded by an article of the state constitution, adopted February 15, 1876, which authorized the sale of public lands for the purpose. In one of the largest barter transactions of recorded history, the builders of the capitol were paid with over three-million acres (12,000 km²) of public land in the "Panhandle" region of Texas; this tract later became the largest cattle ranch in the world, the XIT Ranch. The value of the land, combined with expenses, added to a total cost of $3.7 million for the original building. It was constructed largely by convicts or migrant workers, as many as a thousand at a time. The building has been renovated several times, with central air conditioning installed during 1955 and the most recent refurbishments completed during 1997. The ranch covered ten counties in Texas.I think thats where it got it name

.

: Word for the Day

Ineptocracy (in-ept-oc-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the latter (members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed) are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Would be funny except that it's so undeniably, obviously accurate................and seemingly, inevitable, impossible to stop.

LAITY

The consensus of the clergy is that the laity are far too ignorant to be able to choose correctly for themselves; therefore, the laity must follow the clergy on all aspects. The laity becomes the pawns played by the chess master. The pawns do door knocking, tithe giving, pew filling and other checkmates giving the preacher the recognition of being a first class chess player among his peers. Such concepts of slave membership are mere perversions of the New Testament pattern.    Now that is an interesting statement.Could be a lot or a little truths's  in it.

LITTLE KNOWN LINCOLN FACTS:

The Things You Didn’t Know

About Abraham Lincoln

􀂾 At 6 foot, 4 inches, Abraham Lincoln was the tallest president.

􀂾 Lincoln was the first president to be born outside of the original thirteen colonies.

􀂾 Lincoln was the first president to be photographed at his inauguration. John

Wilkes Booth (his assassin) can be seen standing close to Lincoln in the picture.

􀂾 There are no direct descendents of Abraham Lincoln even though he had 4 sons.

􀂾 During the Civil War, telegraph wires were strung to follow the action on the

battlefield. But there was no telegraph office in the White House, so Lincoln went

across the street to the War Department to get the news.

􀂾 The contents of Lincoln’s pockets on the night of the assassination weren’t

revealed until February 12, 1976. They contained two pairs of spectacles, a

chamois lens cleaner, an ivory and silver pocketknife, a large white Irish linen

handkerchief, slightly used, with “A. Lincoln” embroidered in red, a gold quartz

watch fob without a watch, a new silk-lined, leather wallet containing a pencil, a

Confederate five-dollar bill, and news clippings of unrest in the Confederate

Army, emancipation in Missouri, the Union party platform of 1864, and an article

on the presidency by John Bright.

􀂾 Lincoln was the only president to receive a patent, for a device for lifting boats

over shoals.

􀂾 Lincoln’s son, Robert, who was in Washington when his father was killed, was

also on the scene when President Garfield was shot in 1881, and when President

McKinley was assassinated in 1901.

􀂾 Lincoln and his wife held séances in the White House. They had a great interest

in psychic phenomena.

􀂾 Lincoln was the first president to wear a beard.

􀂾 Lincoln had the largest shoe-size documented. He wore a size 14!

Economic life

Economic life is the period of actual usefulness of an asset. Economic life refers to the period beyond which it is cheaper to replace or scrap an asset than to continue maintaining it. Economic life should not be confused with the depreciable life of an asset..I personally can not afford to keep them up,But WE The People can ,not only we  can, It's a  must that we do for the good of  all. This is just a simple truth.

D-DAY

D_Day down through the years has been with me at times when I think of the night before when Eisenhower made that crucial decision to start the Invasion ,knowing how the weather would be bad an the Germans would not be expecting it.So many lives lost .I have a deep sorrow for Eisenhower having to make that decision. This is just something I think about from time to time.An I give thanks to those that gave the ultimate so I could set here an reflect back.God bless them all

Nothing Has Changed

Christie just said it, the Republican Party is so committed to making President Obama a one term President that they will let the country go down the drain . My Country come first to me ,any one that aliens themselves  to any party be it Democrat or Republican above country is not thinking for themselves.Ron Paul is the only person in that party that I could support.

Just A Thought

In my lifetime I personally know of just one person that has made a Carrier of showing disrespect to the office of  the President of the United States That person is Rush Limbaugh
